Palona AI is seeking an applied AI Modeling Engineer to enhance the intelligence, safety, latency, and cost of its voice and multimodal agents in real restaurant environments. You will own model selection, prompting, fine-tuning, evaluation, dataset development, and production behavior.

You will partner with product, software, and customer-facing teams to move from hypothesis to experiments and reliable deployment, delivering measurable improvements in guest, restaurant, and business outcomes.

Qualificações

• 3+ years of industrial experience in relevant technical domain.
• Strong machine learning foundations and hands-on experience developing or evaluating production AI systems.
• Experience with LLMs, speech models, multimodal models, or agentic systems.
• Strong Python skills and modern ML tooling such as PyTorch, JAX, Hugging Face, or equivalent systems.

Responsabilidades

• Develop modeling and experimentation strategies for voice, language, reasoning, ordering, multilingual behavior, and multimodal understanding.
• Build rigorous offline and online evaluations measuring task completion, accuracy, safety, latency, and business outcomes.
• Create representative datasets from simulations, annotations, production feedback, and edge cases while protecting sensitive data.
• Evaluate frontier and open-source models and decide build/buy/route/prompt/fine-tune or distillation strategies.
• Improve prompting, memory, tool-use policies, outputs, routing, and fallback behavior.
• Design post-training methods like fine-tuning or distillation when advantageous.
