Booz Allen Hamilton seeks an Applied AI Health Scientist to join our team and advance AI solutions across data curation, model training, and deployment in clinical settings. You’ll support ARPA-H programs, assess technical approaches, and guide performers toward rigorous, real-world health outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in health AI, experience with ML methods including LLMs, and strong executive communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Applied AI in the Health domain.
• Experience applying advanced ML methods, including LLMs or deep learning, to health datasets.
• Experience in evaluation methods for AI/ML (robustness, fairness, interpretability, reproducibility).
• Experience interacting with senior-level executives (SES or GS-15).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to review, critique, and guide AI/ML technical work.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate AI/ML proposals and deliverables from external teams.
• Provide guidance on model development, training methods, and validation strategies.
• Advise on integration of multimodal health data (EHR, imaging, genomic, patient-reported).
• Assess alignment of model architectures with program goals and clinical use cases.
• Evaluate benchmarking results and provide feedback on methodology.
• Advise on deployment considerations (interpretability, reliability, safety).
• Produce reports and presentations synthesizing complex findings for diverse audiences.
