Job summary

HackerOne is seeking an AI Engineer to join our AI Platform team in a role focused on applied AI for security. You will contribute to AI-powered capabilities, including Hai, and work to enhance vulnerability discovery and security analysis workflows across our platform.

The role requires remote-friendly work with onsite presence once per week (Thursday) and proximity to Seattle, WA; Boston, MA; Washington, DC; or Austin, TX for occasional in‑person collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, with hands‑on experience building production systems.
• Experience integrating LLMs or generative AI models into applications. Hands‑on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or HuggingFace Transformers.
• Must be able and willing to come to the office once per week (typically Thursdays).

Responsibilities

• Apply an AI First mindset by building and integrating AI capabilities relevant to vulnerability detection and security automation.
• Demonstrate problem solving by breaking AI and security challenges into clear components and simple solutions.
• Use data‑driven decision making to evaluate model performance and iterate on features with measurable impact.
• Build and maintain APIs and services enabling secure interactions between AI models and internal systems.
