Edison Scientific in San Francisco is seeking an Applied AI engineer to lead the development and maintenance of production AI agents, including Kosmos. You will prototype new capabilities with internal science and engineering teams and validate workflows with customers while focusing on agent reliability and usefulness across life sciences.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production systems.
• Experience building LLM-powered tools or applications: prompting, context engineering, agent architectures.
• Strong CS/Math/Science or related technical background.
• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript, with ability to pick up new tools quickly.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain production AI agents powering Edison’s platform, from prototype to production.
• Collaborate with internal science and engineering teams to explore agent architectures, prompting strategies, and evaluation frameworks.
• Develop reusable infrastructure—agent skills, tool-use pipelines, benchmarks—that improve every agent on the platform.
• Spend time with R&D partners (~30%) to test workflows in real environments and bring insights back to the team.
• Translate field insights into product direction and help prioritize future work.
