You'll design, build and deploy AI workflows using LangGraph, MCP and popular LLMs, collaborating with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable AI applications that drive measurable ROI.

The Opportunity

We are working with a leading global technology-driven organisation that is investing heavily in Artificial Intelligence to transform its business operations.

Our client is looking for an experienced Applied AI Engineer to join a small, highly skilled engineering team responsible for developing and deploying production-grade AI agents and intelligent automation solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys building practical AI applications, solving complex business challenges and seeing their work deliver measurable commercial results.

You will have significant autonomy, direct exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence AI adoption across a large international organisation.

This is a hands-on engineering role rather than a research or advisory position.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy production-ready AI agents and agentic workflows.
• Build AI solutions using leading large language models, including GPT, Claude and Gemini.
• Develop applications using Python, LangGraph, MCP and modern agent orchestration frameworks.
• Identify opportunities to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical AI solutions.
• Take ownership of projects from initial concept through development, deployment and production support.
• Implement evaluation frameworks to ensure AI systems are reliable, secure and scalable.
• Integrate AI agents with existing enterprise systems, APIs and business applications.
• Deliver solutions rapidly while maintaining high engineering standards.
• Measure the commercial impact and return on investment of deployed AI solutions.

Essential Requirements

• 3 years of experience in Applied AI Engineering, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience building and deploying AI-powered applications or agentic workflows into production.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Hands-on experience working with large language models and LLM APIs.
• Experience with agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, Claude Agent SDK or similar.
• Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and prompt engineering.
• Understanding of AI evaluation, testing and orchestration techniques.
• Previous experience working within a startup, scale-up or fast-growing technology environment.
• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of technical delivery.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

• Experience developing AI solutions for business process automation.
• Exposure to browser automation, computer-use agents or enterprise workflow integration.
• Experience with AI governance, security and production monitoring.
• A background in delivering AI solutions that have generated measurable cost savings or productivity improvements.
• An interest in sports, digital platforms or consumer technology.
