Job description

Custom applicators are responsible for operating spray equipment and effectively applying pesticides or fertilizers. They mix, load, and apply these substances to fields at approved rates. Additionally, they operate and maintain equipment such as sprayers, spreaders, and trucks, maintain accurate application records, and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities include:

1. Operate and maintain all equipment and vehicles
2. Mix, load, and apply pesticides and fertilizers
3. Apply pesticides and fertilizers at appropriate rates to designated fields
4. Handle and deliver bulk and packaged chemicals
5. Perform daily vehicle inspections
6. Clean and maintain equipment
7. Manage customer service relations
8. Organize and coordinate application schedules with customers
9. Stay knowledgeable about seed, chemical, and fertilizer products to make informed decisions
10. Recertify spraying technician license and safety training every two years
11. CDL and valid driver’s license required
