Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking a Custom Applicator to join our agronomy team. You will safely apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides using advanced equipment and calibrate for crop needs, while assisting in daily operations and maintaining equipment on site.

The role requires strong math skills, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift 60 lbs. CDL and pesticide licenses are preferred or obtainable. Extended hours during peak seasons are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (post-secondary ag education a plus).
• Ability to lift 60 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to work extended hours during busy seasons.
• Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat & Tanker endorsement, or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Pesticide Applicator License.
• Strong math skills for mixing and calibration.
• Previous experience operating and maintaining farm equipment.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate and maintain equipment to ensure correct product application based on blend sheets and crop needs.
• Assist with daily operations, including receiving, loading, and delivering ag products, and treating seed.
• Support customers directly, building trusted relationships that reflect our commitment to service and agronomic excellence.
• Perform light mechanical work to keep application equipment and vehicles in top working condition.
• Work extended hours during peak seasons—and take pride in getting the job done right.

What You’ll Do

We’re looking for a reliable team player with a strong work ethic, mechanical ability, and a passion for agriculture.

• High school diploma or GED (post-secondary ag education a plus)
• Ability to lift 60 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
• Willingness to work extended hours during busy seasons
• Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat & Tanker endorsement, or willingness to obtain
