Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking an Applications Test Engineer for our Manufacturing IT team. The role focuses on leading testing efforts for Siemens OpCenter configurations, customizations, and integrations before production deployment.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will support delivering a high-quality MES solution across manufacturing, quality, and logistics, with the position based at our Battery Plant in Liberty, NC and requiring residence within a commutable distance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of software testing experience.
• 2+ years of experience testing MES/MOM or similar enterprise systems.
• Experience with SQL and validating data across integrated systems.
• Experience using defect tracking and test management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps).

Responsibilities

• Define and work with management on the testing strategy, including unit, integration, regression, performance, and UAT testing.
• Develop and maintain test cases, scripts, and test data for OpCenter modules.
• Lead execution of testing activities across manufacturing, quality, and logistics functional areas.
• Identify, track, and manage defects using test management and tracking tools.
• Lead and mentor testing resources, ensuring alignment on testing standards and execution.
• Provide test status reporting and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production readiness.

Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Manufacturing IT Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Applications Test Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead testing efforts for Siemens OpCenter configurations, customizations, and integrations prior to production deployment.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the person in this role will support the Manufacturing IT department’s objective to deliver a high-quality, reliable MES solution across manufacturing, quality, and logistics operations.

This position is based at the Battery Plant in Liberty, NC. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within a commutable distance of this location

What you’ll be doing

• Define and work with management on the testing strategy, including unit, integration, regression, performance, and UAT testing

What you bring

• Experience with SQL and validating data across integrated systems
• Experience using defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)

Added bonus if you have

• Experience with Siemens OpCenter (Discrete, Quality, Logistics, Manufacturing modules)
• Experience in automotive or battery manufacturing environments
• Experience with test automation tools or frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Tosca)
• ISTQB or similar testing certification
