Job summary

FORMULATRIX is seeking a hands-on Applications Sales Specialist to champion our Ultrafiltration/TFF portfolio across the Western US and Canada. You will bridge cutting-edge science with sales, managing opportunities from initial contact through closing.

You will deliver demos, provide expert applications support and customer training, and travel across the territory to meet customers and represent FORMULATRIX at industry trade shows.

Qualifications

• BSc (or equivalent) in a life sciences field with knowledge of biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology.
• Hands-on experience in filtration and purification techniques (TFF preferred).
• Experience in protein, nucleic acid purification and characterization.
• Strong communication and written skills."
• Willingness to travel across Western US and Canada; valid driver’s license.

The Role

We are seeking a hands-on, organized, and detail-oriented Applications Sales Specialist to champion our Ultrafiltration/TFF (Pulse) portfolio across the Western US and Canada.

In this fast-paced role, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge science and sales. You will manage the full sales process, collaborating closely with our Inside Sales team to turn leads into successful partnerships. This is a highly consultative role perfect for a scientist looking to transition into business, or an experienced sales professional with a strong technical background.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Sales Process: Manage opportunities from initial contact through negotiation, pricing, purchasing follow-up, and closing.
• Showcase the Tech: Deliver compelling customer demos and provide hands-on support during product evaluations.
• Support the Customer Journey: Provide expert applications support, implement customer training, and ensure seamless onboarding.
• Travel & Network: Travel across the territory to meet with customers, perform equipment demonstrations, and represent FORMULATRIX® at industry trade shows.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: BSc (or equivalent) in a life sciences field, featuring solid knowledge of general biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology.
• Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • Preparative macromolecular separation techniques.
  • Microfiltration/ultrafiltration ( Tangential Flow Filtration / TFF experience is highly preferred ).
  • Purification and characterization of proteins, nucleic acids, viral vectors, or lipid nanoparticles on a "multi-milligram scale".
• Commercial Acumen: Prior sales experience is a definite advantage, but not essential if you have the right technical drive and communication skills.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are an absolute must.
• Mobility: Ability to travel as needed throughout the Western US and Canada. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
