Job summary

Nationwide Technical Search seeks an Applications Engineer in Fort Wayne, IN. This onsite role involves providing technical sales support to win programs and smoothly introduce them to manufacturing sites while driving continuous improvement throughout their lifecycle.

You will create technical materials, plan budgets, assess processes, and prepare cost estimates. Strong CAD, ERP, and MS-Office skills are essential, with US citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Technical and planning problem-solving skills.
• CAD experience.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office, MS Project, and Autodesk Design.
• Experience using/interacting with ERP systems.
• Excellent customer relationship skills and outstanding attention to detail.
• US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical sales expertise to support business development in winning programs.
• Introduce programs to manufacturing sites while driving continuous improvement.
• Create internal and deliverable technical material, data, and documentation.
• Prepare cost, resource, and schedule plans and budgets; execute to them.
• Assess existing processes and implement improvements.
• Prepare cost estimates and contribute to quotes and proposals.
• Prepare technical proposals to meet customer needs.
• Interact with customers to determine requirements, explicit and implied.
• Maintain knowledge of industry developments through publications, conferences, and trade shows.
• Interact with vendors and technical institutions; manage introductions of new technology.
• Maintain regular customer and vendor contact at technical and commercial levels via site visits.
