Job summary

Pro Resources Staffing Services seeks an Applications Engineer for a client in Fort Wayne, IN. The role provides technical sales support to win new programs and introduce them to manufacturing sites, while driving continuous improvement throughout the lifecycle.

The position is 1st shift with compensation from 80,000 USD to 85,000 USD per year, requiring a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering background, CAD experience, ERP familiarity, and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering with 5 years related experience.
• CAD experience and familiarity with CAD Cut processes is required.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office, MS Project and Autodesk Design.
• Experience using/interacting with ERP systems.
• Master’s degree is preferred; aerospace/defense or composites background is a plus.
• Project management and sales engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create internal and deliverable technical material and assist with training.
• Prepare cost, resource and schedule plans and budgets and execute to them.
• Assess processes and implement continuous improvements.
• Prepare cost estimates and contribute to quotes and proposals.
• Prepare technical proposals to meet customer needs.
• Interact with customers to understand requirements, explicit and implied.
• Stay updated on industry developments through publications and events.
• Interact with vendors and technical institutions.
• Justify new technology and prepare business cases.
• Lead introduction of equipment to business and attend customer/vendor facilities.

Pro Resources is seeking an Applications Engineer for a client in Fort Wayne, IN. The Applications Engineer provides technical sales expertise to support CAD Cut’s business development in winning new programs and then introducing these programs to the manufacturing sites whilst driving continuous improvement throughout their life cycle.

Shift and Compensation

1st Shift

Compensation is from 80,000 USD to 85,000 USD per year

Job Duties

• Creating necessary internal and deliverable technical material, data and documentation, and assisting with training
• Preparing cost, resource and schedule plans and budgets and executing to them
• Assessing existing processes, both qualitatively and quantitatively, on a rolling and continuous basis and making improvements
• Preparing cost estimates and contributing to quotes and proposals
• Preparing technical proposals to meet the customer’s needs
• Interacting with the customer and determining and understanding their requirements, both explicit and implied
• Maintaining knowledge of latest industry developments through technical publications, conferences and trade shows.
• Interacting with vendors and technical institutions.
• Preparing business justifications for acquiring new technology.
• Managing its introduction to the businessRegular customer and vendor contact at a technical and commercial level, both at Cad Cut and on visits to customers’ and vendors’ facilities
• Recommends and prepares justifications for process, technology and equipment improvements and acquisitions
• Prepares budget, schedule and cost estimates and plans in collaboration with other team

Background Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering and 5 years related experience
• CAD Experience
• Strong computer skills including but not limited to MS Office Suite, MS Project and Autodesk Design
• Experience using/ interacting with ERP
• Master’s Degree in Engineering (Preferred)
• Experience in Aerospace, Defense, Advanced Composites or Multilayer Insulation (Preferred)
• Project management and sales engineering experience (Preferred)
