Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking an Applications Engineer for Teledyne Cable Solutions. You will bridge engineering, manufacturing, and customers to deliver compliant, designed-to-order cable and interconnect solutions.

You’ll lead export jurisdiction activities and support pre- and post-sales technical discussions. The role involves product demonstrations, collaboration with manufacturing on new introductions, and preparing detailed documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
  • 1–3 years of engineering or applications experience preferred.
  • Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) required.

Responsibilities

  • Translate customer specifications into standard and engineered-to-order cable/interconnect solutions.
  • Serve as site lead for export jurisdiction and classification (J/C) activities.
  • Support technical discussions with customers in pre- and post-sales phases.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations for business development.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing on new product introductions and assembly support.
  • Prepare technical documentation including drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure solutions meet customer expectations, quality standards and compliance.
  • Train internal teams on newly developed products and assemblies.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.

Job Description
Teledyne Cable Solutions – Part of Teledyne Marine Interconnect Solutions

In this role, you’ll act as the technical bridge between engineering, manufacturing, and customers—while serving as the primary point of contact for export jurisdiction and classification (J/C). Your work ensures that complex cable and interconnect solutions are not only technically sound but also compliant with regulatory requirements. You’ll play a critical role in enabling safe, compliant growth across global markets.

What you need
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills – required
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate into practical solutions – required
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability – required
  • Knowledge of export jurisdiction and classification (e.g., ITAR) – preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field – required
  • 1–3 years of engineering or applications experience – preferred
  • Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) – preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) – required
