DeKalb Health in Verona, VA seeks an engineer to provide technical marketing support for customer applications on complex operating systems. You will work within defined parameters to address moderate issues and support project work with field sales and vendors.

Responsibilities include collaborating with vendors, evaluating inquiries, developing client specifications, and preparing technical data for customers. A 4-year engineering degree and 1–2 years in rotating equipment are preferred.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
• Basic knowledge in Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
• Basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma CI best practices, White belt level.

• Work with field sales to pursue opportunities in targeted industries and accounts.
• Collaborate with vendors to integrate Sumitomo products into designed packages for industry targets.
• Perform cost analysis of new inquiries and quotations between SHI and SMA sales force.
• Review inquiries and requirements to establish scope of supply limits and costing.
• Develop comments to client project specifications and assist in evaluating non-standard requests.
• Work with Sales, Customers and Vendors to obtain project information and develop equipment applications.
• Prepare technical data for internal and external customers.
• Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
• Ensure proper documentation of technical data for projects per engineering policies.

Purpose and Scope of Job:

Responsible for providing technical marketing support for the development and implementation of customer applications dealing with complex operating systems. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

• Work in collaboration with field sales in actively pursuing targeted industries opportunities and accounts by using internal selection tools.
• Collaborate efforts with component vendors to integrate Sumitomo Products, into designed prepared packages, to offer to specific industry targets.
• Perform cost analysis of new inquiries and quotations between SHI and SMA sales force.
• Review customer inquiries and project requirements to establish scope of supply limits and costing
• Develop detailed comments to client project specifications
• Assist in the evaluation of non-standard product requests, applications, and capabilities
• Work with Sales, Customers and Vendors to obtain project specific information and develop project equipment applications
• Prepare technical data to internal and external customers
• Document and communicate results of technical data generated
• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) with one to two (1-2) years’ experience in the rotating equipment industry.
• Basic knowledge in Project Management Body of Knowledge
• Basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma CI best practices, White belt level
• Any additional essential skills and/or knowledge as shown in the HRIS Career & Education > Skills section for incumbents holding this job title.
