Job summary

Noble Gas Systems in Wixom, MI is seeking an Application Engineer to translate customer needs into safe, manufacturable high‑pressure gas storage solutions. You will lead cross‑functional design activities from concept through release, validation, and customer integration, combining hands‑on prototyping with CAD, analysis, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Experience with pressure-containing equipment, fluid systems, or safety-critical products is preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanics of materials, fatigue, thermal effects, and interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with CAD design and production-ready drawings.
• Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance analysis is preferred.
• Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, and traceability in design control.
• Ability to interpret analysis/test data for stakeholders.
• Experience with FEA/CFD and simulation assessment is a plus.
• Experience with certification requirements and third-party labs is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer applications into engineering requirements and specs.
• Lead or coordinate product development from concept to design release and certification.
• Develop interface definitions for mechanical, fluid, electrical, and mounting needs.
• Conduct design studies to optimize safety, durability, and manufacturability.
• Create DFMEA and maintain DVP&R documentation and test plans.
• Plan prototype builds, instrumentation, and test sequences.
• Coordinate certification testing with internal and third‑party labs.
