Job summary

Securitas Technology is seeking an Applications Engineer to formulate engineered estimates and budgets for security system projects. You will analyze blueprints, prepare detailed cost estimates, and collaborate with consultants, sales, and project teams to ensure accurate bids and timely submissions.

Responsibilities include value engineering, maintaining pricing databases, and staying current with industry codes and technology trends. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience estimating in fire alarm and/or security/low voltage field.
• Education BA Business/ BS Engineering/MS Engineering or applicable amount of experience may substitute for the educational background
• Strong understanding of NFPA and NEC codes.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed construction drawings and scope documentation.
• Experience working with major manufacturers (e.g., Silent Knight, Firelite, Bosch, Hanwha, Avigilon, Axis, Genetec, Lenel, and others).
• NICET Certification- Fire Alarm Systems Level III or higher, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Product selection and application to ensure the right product is used in the right application, adhering to standards.
• Estimate installation costs in conjunction with Operations and Labor teams.
• Review Field Site Survey documents and drawings.
• Support RFI, RFP, RFQ and RFMS processes as needed.
• Create estimates and budgets for access control, intrusion, CCTV, intercom, PSIM and structured cabling systems.
• Review architectural and electrical drawings and plans for security projects.
• Interpret specifications, addendums, revisions and scope of work.
• Collaborate with project managers and design engineers for change orders.
• Maintain deadlines and build relationships with coworkers, suppliers and manufacturers.
