Job summary

The Weir Group in Salt Lake City is seeking an Application Engineer to apply mechanical and industrial engineering knowledge, selecting pumps and developing equipment solutions for customers. You will work closely with customers, sales, and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical proposals and manage project orders.

This role emphasizes collaboration, accuracy, and safety, with occasional travel to sites and responsibility for SAP order entry and project handoffs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Process, or Industrial Engineering required.
• Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and application requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed pump selections based on customer requirements and operating conditions.
• Collaborate with customers and sales teams to understand operational challenges and recommend technical solutions.
• Develop technical and commercial proposal packages, including equipment recommendations, project costing, sourcing evaluations, and delivery considerations.
• Maintain accurate project and opportunity information within sales pipeline systems.
• Enter orders into SAP and coordinate complete project handoffs to ensure alignment across departments.
• Review technical specifications and identify long-lead items to support efficient project execution.
• Provide technical support throughout the quoting, order, and project execution process.
• Travel occasionally to customer sites as business needs require.
• Support and promote a strong safety culture through Weir's Zero Harm principles.

This role works closely with customers, sales teams, engineering, operations, and supply chain partners to perform equipment selections, develop technical proposals, manage orders, and provide application support throughout the project lifecycle.
