Job summary

Arrow Electronics is seeking an Applications Engineer to design and develop software solutions, manage the SDLC, and assist with testing, implementation, and auditing. You will perform product design, bug verification, beta support, and document software specifications throughout the project life cycle.

The role requires deep software development and troubleshooting expertise, the ability to solve complex problems, and independent work, with potential guidance to junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Codes, documents software specifications, and participates in upgrades, fixes, and patches as mandated by the vendor.
• Reports to the Manager of Software Development and operates under moderate supervision.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designs and develops software solutions to meet business requirements; manages the full software development life cycle including testing, implementation, and auditing.
• Performs product design, bug verification, and beta support, which may require research and analysis.
• Executes, assesses, and troubleshoots software programs and applications; analyzes and amends software errors in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Coding, developing, and documenting software specifications throughout the project life cycle; participates in software upgrades, revisions, fixes, and patches as mandated by the vendor.
• Operates under moderate supervision and typically reports to the Manager of Software Development.

What We Are Looking For

• Typically requires 5–7 years of related experience with a 4‑year degree; or 3 years and an advanced degree; or equivalent work experience.
• In‑depth knowledge and experience in software development and troubleshooting.
• Ability to solve complex problems and apply new perspectives using existing solutions.
• Works independently with minimal guidance.
• Provides informal guidance to junior staff and serves as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
• Contributes to process improvements.
• Tracks and resolves problems using existing solutions.
• Represents a level at which career may stabilize for many years, or until retirement.

Work Arrangement

Fully In Office: Monday‑Friday. Remote work employees may be required to be present at the nearest Arrow office for work‑related purposes at the Company’s request and sole discretion.

Compensation

Annual hiring range: $87,900.00 – $115,115.00. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
