Job summary

Colder Products Company (CPC) in Minnesota is seeking an Applications Engineer to drive growth through technical expertise, custom solutions, and close collaboration with customers and internal teams.

You will define product requirements, design concepts, develop costings, and help create winning proposals while traveling up to 25% for domestic/international engagements. This role offers a comprehensive benefits package and room for career advancement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or electrical preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in product-related engineering.
  • 1+ years of customer-facing experience.
  • 3+ years of Creo, Pro/E, or similar CAD software.

Responsibilities

  • Accelerate growth by winning new business through technical expertise and new custom solutions.
  • Partner with customers to understand application needs and align with CPC capabilities.
  • Define new custom product requirements.
  • Lead conceptual product design, proposals, and delivery aligned with customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams for feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Develop costing and pricing for complex projects.
  • Partner with sales to develop and deliver winning proposals.
  • Serve as a technical resource for stakeholders.
  • Present CPC's capabilities to customers and channel partners.
  • Lead cross-functional teams aligned to customer needs.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or electrical preferred)

Responsibilities
  • Accelerate growth at CPC by winning new business through technical expertise and new custom solutions.
  • Partner directly with customers to gain an in-depth understanding of their application needs and match these needs with a strong understanding of CPC capabilities to deliver optimal solutions.
  • Responsible for new custom product requirements definition
  • Responsible for conceptual product design, proposals, and management with customer expectations from initiation to product delivery.
  • Work closely with internal engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Develop costing and pricing for complex projects.
  • Partner with the sales team to develop and deliver winning proposals.
  • Serve as a technical resource for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Present CPC's expertise, capabilities, and products to customers and sales channel partners.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive activity aligned with customer needs.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical or electrical preferred).
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in product-related engineering.
  • Minimum 1+ years of customer-facing experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience with Creo, Pro/E, or similar CAD software.
  • This role may require p to 25%, international and domestic.
Preferred Skills
  • Design experience in injection molded, machined, and stamped components
  • Design experience in fluid handling
  • Proficiency in FEA and/or CFD modeling
  • Familiarity with ISO13485

Pay Range

$90,000 - $115,000 Annually

  • This range is the pay scale for this role in Minnesota.
