Job summary

The City of Houston is seeking an IT Professional - Applications to support critical business applications from our Enterprise Application Services division. Posting 39436 places you at 611 Walker St., Houston, TX, with standard Monday–Friday hours.

You will troubleshoot, develop interfaces, and coordinate changes across teams. You should have strong .NET skills including VB.NET and C#, plus experience with Rest API, Web Services, XML, HTML, and CSS.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS or closely related field.
Information systems certifications may substitute for education or experience.
Related Information Systems experience may be substituted year-for-year.

Responsibilities

Provide production support for business-critical applications, including proactive system monitoring, troubleshooting, and rapid resolution of critical incidents.
Develop and troubleshoot custom applications and interfaces using programming languages within the .NET technology stack.
Serve as the primary liaison to business and functional teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
Work at the highest technical level across all phases of application systems analysis and support.
Coordinate meetings and requirements-gathering sessions for support activities and enhancements.
Oversee change management and release processes.
Provide mentoring and training to team members as needed.
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, conveying complex concepts clearly.
Perform IT development, management, and support tasks for assigned departments or divisions.
