Job summary

The Jefferson County Department of Health is seeking a well-qualified Programmer Analyst to design and maintain computer programs, troubleshoot issues, and create instructional aids for end users. You will monitor servers and manage databases to support data analysis and reporting, while training staff on software functionality.

Qualifications

• Experience creating, scripting, and modifying programs using multiple languages.
• Experience diagnosing and debugging errors in software environments such as Visual Studio or ESRI.
• Experience querying data from databases with joins and foreign keys.

Responsibilities

• Conducts software troubleshooting, investigates issues, and modifies programs to resolve problems.
• Develops and maintains programs and applications to improve functionality and meet user needs.
• Creates manuals and technical reports documenting changes for future reference.
• Delivers end-user training, guides users, and ensures proper use per manufacturer specs.
• Develops and maintains databases to support data storage, analysis, and reporting.
