Job summary

Talent Groups is seeking an Application Tester for a 12-month engagement. The role covers system testing, UAT, and requirements validation across client systems, with remote work and periodic in-person meetings as needed.

The candidate will build test cases, execute tests, produce reports, and support defect resolution. Strong experience in IT testing, XML standards, SOA, SQL, and automation tooling is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology.
• 5 to 7 years of experience as a tester for IT projects.
• Experience in NIEM XML or another complex XML Standard.
• Experience with testing web services manually using SoapUI/Postman.
• Working knowledge of IBM Rational Jazz Suite is a plus.
• Ability to understand the complexity of a large integrated system and to trace problems to their source.
• Experience with SOA technologies.
• Scripting complex SQL queries (Microsoft SQL server).
• Proficient in MS Excel.
• Proficient in core programming languages C# or Java.
• Sound knowledge on automation reporting tools like Extent Reports.
• Proven experience in data driven automation testing.
• Sound knowledge on GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Create test use cases, do the testing, create the test results reports, and implement the testing needed by the project managers.
• Provide documented processes to the testing team in the implementation of the required testing.
• Support the resolution of defects found during testing and provide general testing process consultation to the project team.
• Work on testing activities for new releases for the team and stakeholders.
• Develop presentations for stakeholders, officials, and other interested parties when requested by Management.
• Report test results, document reported defects to test lead. Enter the defects in defect management tool.
• Validate Traceability Matrix to contractual requirements.
• Ability to handle the full lifecycle of Automation framework development.
• Collaborate on the architecture and expansion of the automation framework.
• Ability to maintain automation test Suite and integrate to DevOps.

Job Description

• The Application Tester is responsible for system testing, User Acceptance Testing, and requirements validation of the client�and any other system managed by the client.
• The Application Tester is also responsible for understanding all of the areas of the system and providing institutional knowledge of its design and operation.�

Specific Services Required

• Creating test use cases, doing the testing, creating the test results reports, and implementing the testing needed by the project managers
• Providing documented processes to the testing team in the implementation of the required testing

Required Skills/Experience

The Candidate Must Have The Following Skills Or Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology, exposure to programming in 3rd generation languages and knowledge of software design patterns
• 5 to 7 years of experience as a tester for IT projects Experience in NIEM XML or another complex XML Standard
• Experience with testing web services manually using Soap UI/Postman Working knowledge of IBM Rational Jazz Suite is a plus An ability to understand the complexity of a large integrated system and to trace problems to their source
• Experience with SOA technologies Experience in scripting complex SQL queries (Microsoft SQL server)
