Intermountain Healthcare seeks an Applications Systems Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of clinical, administrative, or financial systems across hospitals and clinics. You will lead a team, manage budgets, mentor staff, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive incident resolution and process improvements while ensuring service management practices and SLAs are met.

The role supports flexible work options and may include onsite interviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare or computer technology from an accredited institution (education verified).
  • Four years of experience in healthcare or computer technology field.
  • Six years of experience configuring, supporting, training, and implementing clinical, financial or administrative systems in healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for department and day-to-day operations.
  • Plan and manage daily operations within budget and capital constraints.
  • Direct work by hiring, coaching, mentoring, and performance management including disciplinary actions.
  • Manage customer, stakeholder, and vendor relationships and expectations.
  • Coordinate resource allocation and project delivery within budget and requirements.
  • Coordinate interdependencies and schedules with other project teams and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical and application training opportunities to ensure staff competencies.
  • Ensure staff follow defined support and service management practices (incident, request, problems, change control).
  • Facilitate creation, management and measurement of SLAs/OLAs for assigned applications.
  • Define, monitor and improve application-specific metrics and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate across IS teams to resolve incidents and drive root-cause analyses and improvements.
  • Maintain technical support documentation and deliver staff training.

Job Description:The Application Systems Manager is responsible to oversee the day to day operations of a defined set of applications (clinical, administrative, or financial). This includes activities related to the analysis, configuration, testing, support, release, training, and/or implementation of these technologies. Typically these systems are utilized across multiple hospitals, clinics, divisions. This position is responsible to adopt best practice standards that are in line with IS and business strategies.We are committed to offering flexible work options where approved and stated in the job posting. Provides technical leadership and direction for department/area and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a group of employees including employee engagement, adoption of best practices, and problem resolution.2. Accountable to plan and manage the daily operations within the parameters of their departmental operating and capital budgets.3. Responsible for directing the work of employees for area of accountability, including hiring, goal setting, coaching and mentoring, employee recognition and training, and performance management which includes disciplinary action.4. Manages customer, stakeholder, and as applicable, vendor relationships and expectations.5. Regularly communicates with staff and manages resource allocation to projects to ensure timely delivery within budget and according to requirements.6. Coordinates technical interdependencies, schedules, and business requirements with other project teams and with key business stakeholders.7. Responsible to provide adequate technical and application(s) specific training opportunities to ensure staff competencies.8. Ensures that all staff within the department follows Intermountain defined support and service management best practices (e.g. incident, request, problems, change control, etc.).9. Facilitates the creation and management and measurement of operating and service level agreements for assigned applications.10. Defines, manages, and monitors application specific metrics as outlined in the SLA, OLA (e.g. incident, request, problems and time to resolution and overall customer satisfaction.11. Effectively coordinates across IS teams to develop and test solutions and to resolve incidents and problems driving to true root cause analysis and process improvements. Focuses on prevent reoccurrence.12. Oversees the creation and on-going maintenance of technical support related documentation required to effectively support each application. Facilitates training of staff.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in healthcare or computer technology related field. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution.
