Job summary

Upbound Group, Inc. in Plano, TX invites a 2027 Summer Internship in Application Support to join our enterprise teams. You will learn end-to-end Supply Chain processes, document current workflows, and collaborate on optimization and AI-driven improvements across Finance, Retail, and Technology functions.

Ideal candidates are CS students graduating May 2027–May 2028 with strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with Power BI, SQL, Python, and AI tools.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science with graduation between May 2027 and May 2028.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• Interest in enterprise applications, process improvement, Supply Chain, Finance technologies, and AI solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand end-to-end Supply Chain lifecycle and enterprise applications that support procurement, inventory management, distribution, and fulfillment.
• Document current business processes, identify operational challenges, analyze gaps, and propose improvements.
• Partner with business and technology teams to support process optimization initiatives and application enhancements.
• Learn how Finance and Accounting systems integrate with Supply Chain, Retail, and other platforms for reporting and compliance.
• Document system issues, business requirements, and enhancement opportunities for Finance and Accounting apps.
• Support the development, testing, and implementation of minor enhancements and process improvements.
• Explore AI technologies to improve business processes, automate tasks, and increase efficiency.
• Assist with AI initiatives, including data analysis, prompt engineering, workflow automation, and documentation.
• Participate in project coordination activities, including information gathering and stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Supply Chain, Finance, Data, and Technology to gain exposure to enterprise platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Gain an understanding of the end-to-end Supply Chain lifecycle and the enterprise applications that support procurement, inventory management, distribution, and fulfillment operations.
• Assist in documenting current business processes, identifying operational challenges, analyzing gaps, and recommending process improvement opportunities.
• Partner with business and technology teams to support process optimization initiatives and application enhancements that improve efficiency and user experience.
• Learn how Finance and Accounting systems integrate with Supply Chain, Retail, and other enterprise platforms to support financial operations, reporting, and compliance.
• Help document system issues, business requirements, and enhancement opportunities for Finance and Accounting applications.
• Support the development, testing, and implementation of minor application enhancements and process improvements.
• Explore the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to improve business processes, automate repetitive tasks, enhance knowledge management, and increase operational efficiency.
• Assist with AI-related initiatives, including data analysis, prompt engineering, workflow automation, documentation generation, and evaluating opportunities for AI-driven business solutions.
• Participate in project coordination activities, including information gathering, status tracking, stakeholder communication, and meeting facilitation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Data, and Technology organizations to gain exposure to enterprise business operations and modern technology platforms.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science with an expected graduation date between May 2027 and May 2028.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• Demonstrated interest in in enterprise applications, business process improvement, Supply Chain, Finance technologies, and emerging AI solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with data analysis, reporting, or collaboration tools.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Proven leadership potential through academic achievement, internships, campus involvement, athletics, military service, or extracurricular activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior internship experience in technology, business analysis, process improvement, data analytics, or related fields is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, SQL, Python, AI tools (e.g., Copilot or ChatGPT), or other business intelligence and collaboration platforms is a plus.
• Coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, or related disciplines.

Work Location

Ability to work in our corporate headquarters in Plano, Texas throughout the entire ten-week summer intern program.
