Job summary

Barclays is seeking an Application Support Analyst - SRE to provide production support and application management for Synthetics SWAP Trading and related apps. You will ensure availability, stability, and accuracy, acting as the primary escalation point for Front Office issues and supporting production changes with cross-functional teams.

• Understanding of trading applications and business processes, preferably within Prime Services, with experience supporting technology solutions in a financial services environment.

You will provide production support and application management for Synthetics SWAP Trading and related applications, ensuring system availability, stability, and accuracy. Act as the primary escalation point for issues impacting Front Office trading operations, participate in crisis management, and collaborate with Business, Development, Infrastructure, Operations, and vendors to support production changes, resolve incidents, and minimize business disruption.

To be successful as an Application Support Analyst - SRE, you should have:

• Ample knowledge of Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems
• Experience with SQL Server, including SQL and PL/SQL development and support
• Proficiency in Shell/Perl scripting and PowerShell, with working knowledge of Java and middleware technologies
• Practical experience with ITRS Geneos, Autosys, PGP Encryption/Decryption, and modern platforms such as aPaaS, OpenShift, and Kafka
• Understanding of trading applications and business processes, preferably within Prime Services, with experience supporting technology solutions in a financial services environment

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Ability to read and analyze code, with advanced skills in Unix Shell/Perl scripting, Python, and SQL for application support and database investigations
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence in handling client-facing interactions and challenging situations
• Analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with experience investigating trading and settlement-related queries, including trade processing, pricing, accruals, rates, and costs

Salary for New York, NY:

Minimum Salary: $75,000

Maximum Salary: $125,000
