Job summary

Sandvik Coromant is seeking an Application Specialist to support customers in the Salt Lake City area. You will be the go-to technical expert, leveraging CNC machining, CAD/CAM, and cutting tools knowledge to solve complex problems and deliver measurable value.

You will build relationships, identify opportunities, and collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions and grow market share. A valid license and willingness to travel are required as part of this role at a global tooling leader.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent 10+ years shop experience required.
• Hands-on CNC machining, CAD/CAM, cutting tools experience required.
• Proven problem-solving in technical shop applications.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel (~10% overnight).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Deliver productivity and cost savings using the Coromant product and service offering.
• Identify new business opportunities and grow market share.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide total customer solutions.
• Consult on CNC machining and tooling applications.
• Maintain and optimize the sales pipeline using CRM tools.

As an Application Specialist, you’ll be the go-to expert for our customers—understanding their needs, delivering tailored solutions, and driving business growth. You’ll:

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Deliver customer productivity and cost savings by utilizing the full Coromant product and service offering
• Identify new business opportunities and grow market share
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver total customer solutions
• Use your technical expertise to consult on CNC machining and tooling applications
• Maintain and optimize the sales pipeline using CRM tools to ensure accurate tracking, forecasting, and follow-up on customer engagements

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who combines technical know-how with strong interpersonal skills:

• Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience of at least 10 years in a shop)
• Hands‑on experience with CNC machining, CAD/CAM, and cutting tools
• Proven success in problem solving technical applications in a shop environment
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel (approx. 10% overnight)
