Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Application Security Engineer to embed security best practices into the software development lifecycle. You will identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, work with development teams to ensure secure design, and contribute to security training and guidelines.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in secure coding principles, familiarity with OWASP Top 10, and hands‑on experience with security testing tools to protect applications across the development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in application security, secure software development, or penetration testing.
• Proficiency with security testing tools (Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Veracode).
• Strong understanding of web vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10) and remediation.
• Familiarity with secure coding principles across multiple languages.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with development teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security reviews of application designs and architectures.
• Perform SAST/DAST to identify vulnerabilities.
• Assist development teams in remediating security flaws and provide secure coding guidance.
• Integrate security tools into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Develop and maintain security checklists, guidelines, and training for developers.
• Stay informed about emerging application security threats and trends.
