Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Application Security Engineer to embed security best practices into the software development lifecycle. You will identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, work with development teams to ensure secure design, and contribute to security training and guidelines.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in secure coding principles, familiarity with OWASP Top 10, and hands‑on experience with security testing tools to protect applications across the development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in application security, secure software development, or penetration testing.
• Proficiency with security testing tools (Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Veracode).
• Strong understanding of web vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10) and remediation.
• Familiarity with secure coding principles across multiple languages.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with development teams.

About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Application Security Engineer to embed security best practices into their software development lifecycle in Paarl . This role is critical for identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities in applications before they can be exploited. You will work closely with development teams to ensure that applications are designed, built, and deployed securely. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of secure coding principles, common application vulnerabilities, and security testing methodologies.
