Job summary

The Customer Service Application Security team at Amazon is seeking a Security Engineer to help protect customer data through secure-by-design principles. You will review designs, guide secure coding, and contribute code for security fixes alongside developers.

You’ll automate security assessments and embed security into the software development lifecycle with paved paths and guardrails. You will work with a collaborative team focused on scalable security solutions across Amazon’s internal

Qualifications

• 2+ years of web protocols, common security attacks, and remediation experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with web protocols and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and exploits.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated security guardrails and paved paths that enable secure-by-default practices across Amazon’s technology landscape
• Engage with development teams early to embed security into applications from the start, guiding on secure architecture and coding practices
• Build automated, continuous security assessment capabilities that replace manual reviews and scale across the business unit
• Contribute code for security fixes and paved path solutions alongside developers
• Partner with developers to build self-service security tools that identify and remediate risks without bottlenecks
• Design and implement preventive and detective security controls for continuous assurance
• Collaborate with security stakeholders to define and drive long-term security strategy and participate in on-call rotations
