Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Application Security Engineer to join our Security Operations team in Seattle. You will protect customer trust by reviewing critical systems, designing security controls, and testing deployments across networks, endpoints, servers, and applications.

You will collaborate with engineers, PMs, and security staff, respond to incidents, and help grow security capabilities at scale while maintaining the highest standards for vulnerability management and policy guidance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of web protocols and security experience
• Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques
• Experience with AWS services
• Ability to write code or scripts with some assistance

Responsibilities

• Preserve Amazon customer trust through rigorous security practices.
• Perform application security reviews of critical systems and services.
• Engineer security solutions to protect systems, networks and applications.
• Security design and testing of the most critical Amazon applications.
• Respond to security violations, vulnerabilities, and event detection systems.
• Provide security policy guidance and consultations.
• Evangelize security within Amazon and be an advocate for customer trust.
• Be part of a team on-call rotation.
