Roles and Responsibilities:

* An Application Packaging Lead Analyst job typically involves overseeing the packaging and deployment of software applications, ensuring they are properly installed and managed across various systems.

* This includes developing and implementing packaging processes, troubleshooting issues, and documenting the process for future deployments.

* The role also involves leading a team of application packaging analysts, providing technical guidance, and collaborating with other departments to ensure successful software deployments.

Leadership and Management:

* Guiding, mentoring, and motivating a team of application packaging analysts, providing technical expertise and support.

* Identifying areas for improvement in application packaging processes and implementing best practices.

* Working with other IT teams, such as development, operations, and security, to ensure seamless application deployments.

* Creating and maintaining documentation for application packaging processes, including user manuals, installation guides, and support documentation.

* Creating and maintaining application packages for various software, ensuring they are compatible with different operating systems and environments.

* Deploying application packages to end-user devices, using automated tools and processes.

* Conducting thorough testing of packaged applications to ensure they function correctly and meet performance requirements.

* Diagnosing and resolving issues related to application packaging and deployment.

* Providing technical support to end-users and IT staff regarding application packaging and deployment.

* Monitoring the performance of deployed applications and identifying areas for optimization.

* Analyzing data related to application packaging and deployment to identify trends and make informed decisions.

* Generating reports on application packaging and deployment activities, providing insights into performance and areas for improvement.

Skills and Qualifications:

* Strong understanding of application packaging tools and technologies.

* Experience with scripting languages: (e.g., PowerShell, Python).

* Knowledge of different operating systems and environments: (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux).

* Experience with software deployment tools: (e.g., SCCM, WSUS).

* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Leadership and team management experience.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position [$73,350 to $116,000] depends on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
