Job summary

Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies in Troy, OH, is seeking an Application Engineer to perform sealing design and applications engineering. You will support development of design concepts and provide technical input across static and dynamic sealing solutions, including O-rings and electrification technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specs, and documentation.
• Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or NX.

Responsibilities

• Perform general engineering functions related to sealing design and applications.
• Support development of design solutions and technical concepts.
• Apply engineering expertise to seal solutions across static and dynamic applications (O-rings, electrification/eMobility).
• Analyze warranty data, field performance, and teardown findings to identify root causes and drive quality improvements.
• Collaborate with internal experts and customers to solve technical challenges.
• Support customer programs and component reviews with technical input in meetings.
• Develop and update seal designs using 2D/3D CAD tools to meet requirements.
• Lead or support problem-solving initiatives including corrective actions and VA/VE cost reductions.
