Job summary

Beckhoff Automation USA in Texas is seeking an Application Engineer to collaborate with regional sales and engineering teams. You will lead technical discussions, demonstrate Beckhoff technology, and guide customers through prototypes to implementation.

The role requires deep knowledge of PLCs, motion control, robotics, and fieldbus systems like EtherCAT, plus strong programming skills. You will work in a hybrid model from Texas regional offices (Houston/Austin/Dallas) with travel expectations.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or automation/mechatronics from a technical school
• Demonstrated success architecting, building, and commissioning industrial automation control systems
• Deep knowledge of industrial automation technologies (PLCs, motion control, robotics, EtherCAT)
• Proficiency with programming languages (C#, C++, Python, Objective‑C, HTML/CSS/JS)
• OO programming knowledge and strong Windows literacy
• Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Regional Sales to develop and execute team-based selling strategies.
• Lead technical discussions and provide discovery-driven product demonstrations of Beckhoff capabilities.
• Guide customers through prototype and development phases for successful implementation.
• Proactively drive technical issues to resolution.
• Provide technical input for proposals, BOMs, and application designs.
• Advise customers on optimal technology selection and maintenance for their applications.
• Deliver training and knowledge transfer to empower customers and strengthen relationships.
