Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an Intelligent Services Account Engineer to deliver energy optimization consulting for facilities. The role focuses on data-driven reporting, KPI development with customers, and identifying energy projects that improve performance and reduce costs.

You will support contract management, help secure pull-through business, and lead strategy reviews for assigned accounts, with on-site duties and some travel as needed to client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• HVAC systems familiarity required.
• Experience in project management or estimating roles preferred.

Work Schedule

Where is the work: Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

Duties

Duties include routine on-going consultative services that help our clients continuously optimize their facilities and fulfill their mission more efficiently. Beyond the development and delivery of consultation reports, the Intelligent Services Account Engineer is responsible for energy project development, retro-commissioning, contract management support, and continuously assisting the sales teams with securing a larger share of assigned clients’ business, earning them as customers for life. Success in this role is measured by assigned accounts’ energy reduction delivered to clients, and the amount of pull-through business delivered to Trane.

What you will do

• Gathering all pertinent data, trends and charts to develop customer facing documentation.
• Work with customers and internal stake holders to help identify/develop a site’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Diagnose energy opportunities with customer’s facilities and provide energy projects that solve customer issues/opportunities.
• Aid in the acquisition of pull through work and assist in meeting or exceeding the customer’s goals.
• Perform remote site analysis via web access as needed.
• Lead regular Technical Strategy Review meetings for each Intelligent Service Agreement customer in their portfolio.
• Assist with transition/onboarding of new contracts and support of existing contract execution management.

What you will bring

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction or Engineering Technology, or other related areas; or three (1) plus years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Familiarity with operation and design of HVAC Systems, Building Automation Systems, and/or Temperature Controls required.
• Familiarity with the concepts of new construction and renovation/retrofit, performance contracting, and service project management preferred.
• Windows operating system and Microsoft Office product knowledge.
• Experience with a drafting/ design program is required.
• Understanding of industry standard protocol and requirements for integration preferred.
• Understanding of IT infrastructure and network architecture.
• Some travel to construction sites within the district to determine controls solutions.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: : DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Compensation

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range: $56,800.00 - $116,700.00 Compensation Type: Exception Hourly Incentive Eligible: Yes Sales Commission Eligible: No Disclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors. The actual compensation will depend on elements such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation. Our compensation range is generally based on the national average for the country.
