Job summary

OPEN MIND Technologies AG is seeking an experienced engineer to deliver top-tier technical and sales support for CNC/CAD/CAM customers in the US West. You will guide pre-sales discussions, demonstrate solutions to manufacturing challenges, and ensure successful software deployment with thorough user training.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing/CNC, strong CAD/CAM and GD&T skills, and fluency in English. Remote work is possible, with occasional travel to client sites and events.

Qualifications

  • At least 3+ years in Manufacturing and CNC programming across multiple parts and metal removal processes.
  • Deep knowledge of CNC machining, CNC control systems, and CNC machine tools.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and multi-axis milling/turning experience.
  • Strong GD&T understanding and excellent computer skills; Salesforce familiarity.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication; able to build relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding technical and sales support to customers, dealers and partners.
  • Demonstrate pre-sales mastery by guiding solution discussions and examples.
  • Lead software deployment and post-sales training to empower users.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and coordinate with stakeholders to grow revenue and meet timelines.

YOUR MAIN TASKS

Elevate Customer Experiences

  • Provide outstanding technical and sales support to our valued customers, clients, dealers, and partners.

Pre-Sales Technical Mastery

  • Harness your technical expertise to shine in the pre-sales phase.
  • Demonstrate your knowledge by asking appropriate questions and sharing relevant / appropriate examples of solutions to a particular manufacturing challenge.


Software Deployment and Customer Empowerment

  • Take charge of the client experience with precision and finesse.
  • Empower customers through comprehensive post-sales training, transforming them into proficient software users.


Ingenious Troubleshooting, Sales Growth & Collaborative Market Insight

  • Resolve complex technical issues while collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders, resulting in client satisfaction and the increase in our resulting revenue.
  • Stay at the forefront of market trends, ensuring alignment with schedules, and guaranteeing the timely fulfillment of our commitments.
YOUR PROFILE

Experience

  • At least 3+ years of Manufacturing (machine tool operator, precision mechanic, toolmaker, mechanical engineer) and/or CNC programming experience of multiple parts, materials, and metal removing processes.


Technical skills

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of CNC machining, CNC control systems, CNC machine tools.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
  • Experience with milling and turning machines (multi-axis preferred).
  • Proficient in using and troubleshooting software applications.
  • Strong GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) knowledge.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office Tools, familiarity with Salesforce).

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and other stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong organizational, time management skills and a good dose of resilience to manage and prioritize multiple support requests and projects/missions.
  • Self-motivated individual who demonstrates independence and is highly goal oriented.
  • Enthusiasm for innovative technologies and solutions.

  • Location: US West
  • Valid driving license.
  • Flexibility to travel domestically, and travel internationally occasionally.
