Job summary

Aptiv is seeking a Customer Solution Engineer to join the Connection Systems team in the United States. You will release Aptiv parts at GM, integrate them into vehicle packages, gather customer requirements, and manage change control to support new business and technology opportunities.

You will communicate with OEM teams and suppliers while driving timely design reviews and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in automotive engineering, hands-on hardware/software experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business is required.
• Minimum 3+ years in automotive engineering.
• 1+ year knowledge of Electrical Centers hardware/software and automotive electrical systems.
• Must read vehicle/system schematics and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop connection systems products from customer requirements and Aptiv guidelines.
• Integrate components into vehicle package and coordinate with OEM teams.
• Serve as primary contact with OEM and tiered suppliers; manage design reviews.
• Lead change control, part release strategies and customer drawing process (ECR, F3x, ECO).
• Investigate warranty claims and ensure on-time timing plans; identify risks.
• Identify and pursue new business and technology opportunities.

The Aptiv Connection Systems team has an exciting opportunity for an Customer Solution Engineer. The Customer Solution Engineer will be a part of our Connection Systems team who will be responsible for releasing Aptiv parts at GM, integration into the vehicle/system, gathering customer requirements, managing the change control process and pursuing new business/new technology opportunities. The successful candidate will possess proven world-class technical experience, strong communication and organization skills. A strong focus on customer satisfaction, sense of urgency and bias for action are unwavering requirements for this role. The ideal candidate will bring to the organization technical acumen, automotive intelligence and best-in-class penetration strategies promoting Aptiv products as the preferred connection system. Key Job Responsibilities:

• Develop connection systems products using requirements from the customer, Aptiv Bill of Design, Bill of Process, best practices, and design guidelines.
• Integration into vehicle package
• Point of contact with OEM and vehicle platform teams, and tiered suppliers
• Manage preparation of Technical Design Reviews
• Manage Change Control, part release strategy and customer drawing process (ECR, F3x, ECO)
• Obtain DVP&R customer approval
• Investigate warranty claims and returned parts
• Ensure timing plans are correct and that risks are identified
• Identify and pursue new business and technology opportunities
• Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements

Must Haves (i.e. Basic Qualifications):

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business
• 3+ years of experience within the automotive industry as an engineer
• 1+ years of knowledge of Electrical Centers Hardware and software.
• 1+ years of knowledge of automotive Electrical systems- ability to read vehicle/system/subsystem/component schematics
• Excellent time management and work prioritization skills
• Assertive attitude
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills
• Basic PC skills using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Chrome, Slack, Teams, Webex.
• Ability to manipulate hand tools (pliers, screwdriver, soldering iron, DMM).
• Valid driver license
• Available to travel
• Candidate will be mainly onsite at GM

Nice to Haves (i.e. Preferred Qualifications):

• Product Design & Engineering experience
• Product Validation experience
• GM System knowledge (Jira PRTS, ECR, TeamCenter)
