Job summary

Regal Rexnord Corp is hiring an Application Engineer for PES Motors & Drives in Tipp City, OH. The role blends technical leadership with customer-facing responsibilities, translating drawings into viable motor and drive solutions and coordinating with global engineering teams.

The engineer will support product changes, deviations, and sample development, while performing teardown analyses and root-cause investigations to drive value for customers and the business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience required.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, commercial appliance, refrigeration, or electric motor industries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; documentation and test planning skills.
  • Ability to translate customer drawings and specifications into product solutions.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical liaison for PES customers and qualify motors and other solutions.
  • Translate customer requirements into tests and procedures for qualification.
  • Act as main contact between customer and global engineering teams.
  • Support product changes, deviations, and sample development.
  • Lead or support internal qualification efforts on design changes and transitions.
  • Conduct basic teardown analysis for root-cause and corrective action.

Job description

Application Engineer – PES Motors & Drives

Work model: You will work in a hybrid model, onsite at your designated Regal Rexnord location at least 3 days per week (Monday–Thursday), with flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days, including Friday.

As the technical liaison for highly valued customers assigned to you, you will translate customer drawings, specifications, and requests into product solutions that meet customer and business needs. You will understand customer applications to establish tests and procedures for qualifying our products, optimizing our tools, and proactively identifying opportunities to bring value to the customer while driving profitable growth for Regal Rexnord. You will act as the subject‑matter expert in motors and drives at customer sites and serve as the main point of contact between our customers' engineering team and the global engineering team. You will support routine product changes, deviations, and sample development, provide leadership and timely resolution to outstanding customer issues, support basic product teardown analysis of reliability returns for root‑cause and corrective action development, and lead or support internal qualification efforts on customer‑impacting design changes and transition projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as technical liaison for PES customers; leading efforts to qualify existing and new motors (ECM & PSC) and other product solutions into their applications
  • Understand customer applications to establish tests and procedures to qualify our Motors & Drives products and optimize our tools
  • Acts as main point of contact between customer engineering team and our global engineering team
  • Support routine product changes, deviations and sample development
  • Act as a subject matter expert in motor technology at customer site
  • Provide solutions to our customers for their applications
  • Conduct evaluations of customer applications and proactively look for opportunities to bring value to the customer while driving profitable growth for Regal Rexnord
  • Conduct competitive analysis on motors from other manufacturers
  • Strengthen relationship with customers by timely resolution of outstanding issues
  • Help engineering team to flow down customer key requirements to internal product design requirements
  • Lead or support internal qualification efforts on customer focused design changes and transition projects
  • Support basic product teardown analysis of reliability returns for root cause and corrective action
  • Support DCX (digital customer experience)
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience
  • 3‑5 years of experience in HVAC, commercial appliance, commercial refrigeration, or electric motor industry
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with emphasis on documentation
  • Ability to gather requirements, write specifications, test plans, and application notes
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Strong relationship and team‑building skills, including conflict resolution
  • Individual must be proactive, high energy and have strong problem‑solving skills
  • Strong time‑management skills
  • Willingness and ability to learn, help, create and adapt to new technologies
  • Aptitude for troubleshooting computer hardware and software program issues
  • Ability to travel and work at a customer site for an extended period of time
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in HVAC, commercial appliance, commercial refrigeration, or electric motor industry
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to interpret electronics and schematics, bill of materials and engineering drawings
  • Six Sigma trained, experience with statistical analysis, Greenbelt certified
  • Design experience with ECM and/or PSC motors
