Job summary

Axiom Materials, Inc. is seeking an Applications Engineer to work with the commercial team, customers and the engineering group to grow and promote the sale of Axiom Materials through industry leading technical service and product support.

The Applications Engineer is the initial contact with customers when introducing new products, training for processing composite materials, troubleshooting and coordinating the resolution of quality concerns between the customer and Axiom quality.

Responsibilities

• 1. Work cross-functionally with technical and sales to identify and resolve client concerns; recommending a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future.
• 2. Manage and interpret customer requirements - speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs.
• 3. Provide recommended products and specification reviews (gap analysis).
• 4. Oversee new external qualifications and in-situ qualifications.
• 5. Support Technical Service Engineers with screening tests for new qualifications as needed.
• 6. Apply composite engineering principles to enable manufacturing of high temperature composite and ceramic parts, including ceramic matrix composites, and fabrication methods and associated processes
• 7. Support Axiom quality organization by providing first line reporting of customer quality concern, Axiom recommendations and following through to closure of complaint.
• 8. Coordinate laboratory activities for required technical support activities.
• 9. Write and distribute technical reports on Axiom products processing, customer visits, quality concerns and product development.
• 10. Introduce new products to customers through in person/ on-site training.
• 11. Understand and comply with established guidelines that ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
• 12. Expand market awareness of our products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products and services effectively.
• 13. Work with the engineering team to ensure customer project requirements are met.
• 14. Maintaining records of customer communications and contact information as required.
• 15. Making technical presentations at customer visits, distributor training, trade shows and/or webinars.
• 16. Working knowledge of design and engineering tools.
• 17. Research market requirements and market data.
• 18. Maintain knowledge of competitor products and identify and report intelligence on competitor technical and processing attributes.
• 19. Schedule and coordinate projects to align with deadlines and budgets

The role of Applications Engineer is to work closely with the commercial team, customers and the engineering team to grow and promote the sale of Axiom Materials through industry leading technical service and product support. The Applications Engineer is the initial line of contact with customers when introducing new products, training for processing composite materials, troubleshooting and coordinating the resolution of quality concerns between the customer and Axiom quality. Primary areas of responsibility include customer and commercial team interaction, technical support and product & process engineering support. This position requires a person to perform work with minimum supervision, exercising judgment and initiative.
