  • 5+ years in application engineering, product support, or validation engineering
  • Experience with design, validation and manufacturing of diesel fuel injector systems (common rail)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to document technical issues clearly and professionally

  • Provide application engineering support for Port Fuel Injection products and programs
  • Investigate product performance issues, test failures, flow audits, and field incidents
  • Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions for engineering issues
  • Author and maintain technical documentation such as incident reports and engineering updates
  • Participate in engineering meetings and communicate status to stakeholders
  • Support manufacturing and supply chain with technical input for shipment readiness and product quality
  • Interface with internal labs, quality, and external suppliers to resolve issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product performance and reliability

Job Description

General Scope

The Port Fuel Injection (PFI) Applications Engineeris responsible forapplication-level engineering support of fuel injection products, ensuring proper performance, validation, and issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle. This role serves as a technical interface between engineering, testing, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain functions, with strong emphasis on problem solving, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities and Duties

Design, develop, and refine remanufacturing processes for Hydraulically Actuated Unit Diesel injectors and Common Rail Diesel injectors.

  • Provide application engineering support for Port Fuel Injection products and assigned programs
  • Investigate product performance issues, including test failures, flow audits, and field incidents
  • Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective action activities for engineering issues
  • Author andmaintainformal technical documentation such as incident reports, audit summaries, and engineering updates
  • Participate in recurring engineering meetings (EPO, Gemba, program reviews) and communicate status to stakeholders
  • Support manufacturing and supply chain with technical input tomaintainshipment readiness and product quality
  • Interface with internal labs, quality, and external suppliers as needed to resolve technical issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product performance and application robustness
Working Conditions

  • Occasional support outside standard hours during critical issues or product launches
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • · Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or related field
  • 5 + years' Experience in application engineering, product support, or validation engineering
  • Experience involving design, validation, and manufacturing process of DIESEL engine Common Rail diesel fuel injector: automotive diesel fuel injection systems: performance of root cause analyses of diesel fuel system failures and design of diesel injector internal components with 3D SolidWorks and generation of engineering drawings using GD&T.
  • · Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • · Ability to document technical issues clearly and professionally
  • · Effective communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred
  • Automotive fuel systems or engine systems experience
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and audit response
  • Familiarity with production launch and sustaining engineering support
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing organizations
