Job summary

Caplock Security, LLC is seeking an experienced Application Engineer to act as the primary technical support lead for one or more core applications. This contingent hire depends on contract award, with collaboration alongside server and database admins while managing full lifecycle support across pre-production and production environments.

The role requires an active Secret clearance, US citizenship, and 7+ years of experience, with competitive compensation and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Seven years of relevant experience required.
• BS or BA, or four additional years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active Secret clearance required or ability to obtain and maintain one.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• 8140-certified professionals (examples: Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, SSCP or higher).
• Preferred certifications include GICSP and CompTIA Security+.
• Ability to commute to Fort Belvoir, Virginia; onsite role.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical support lead for one or more core applications.
• Install, configure, maintain, and support all software products used by the applications.
• Manage software version deployments, upgrades, and patching activities.
• Determine application-specific firewall and network needs.
• Provide hands-on support for data center migration efforts.
• Administer interfaces and APIs, including setup and ongoing support.
• Serve as the main technical resource for break/fix issues to sustain high availability.
• Support application code releases across pre-production and production environments.
• Assist with application requirements tied to organizational transformation initiatives.
• Lead implementation of STIGs and SRGs for applications.
• Produce STIG/SRG artifacts to support compliance efforts.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities identified via routine scans.

In this contingent hire role, employment depends on the successful award of the contract. You will work closely with server administrators and database administrators while maintaining a clear separation of duties, and you will support full application lifecycle management, release execution, security compliance, and infrastructure support across pre-production and production environments. We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $170,000 per year, along with benefits including 401(k) matching, dental insurance, health insurance, paid time off, professional development assistance, and vision insurance. This is an in-person position based in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
