Job description

The Applications Development Senior Manager is a senior management position responsible for leading a team or department to establish and implement application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The role's main objective is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Applications Development teams to achieve goals, including personnel management such as performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
• Provide technical oversight across multiple Applications Development areas based on in-depth knowledge and skills.
• Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects.
• Contribute to strategies for applications development and other functional areas.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of business integration to achieve business goals.
• Make evaluative judgments based on analysis of complex and unique situations.
• Monitor delivery of results, participate in budget management, and handle day-to-day staff management issues, including resource allocation.
• Ensure procedures are followed, define standards, and negotiate with external parties when necessary.
• Assess risks in business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding the firm's reputation, and managing control issues transparently.

Qualifications:

• 6-10 years of relevant experience in the Financial Services industry.
• Experience as Applications Development Manager and in senior development roles.
• Stakeholder and team management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
• Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.

This role requires experience in the Insurance and Pensions sector (mandatory), knowledge of Java, Oracle, and Microservices Architecture, and intermediate English proficiency.
