Job summary

FCI Basics, an Amphenol business, seeks a driven Application Development Engineer to grow strategic customer relationships across North America. The role emphasizes PCB design mastery, collaboration with engineering, sales and product teams, and hands-on prototyping to deliver innovative interconnect solutions.

You will interface with customers, lead design reviews, and communicate solutions through technical presentations, contributing to the roadmap and ensuring on-time deliverables.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in PCB design and development.
• Ability to create schematics and select components.
• Experience with PCB layout and design tools (Altium, Cadence/OrCAD, PADS, KiCad).
• Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals and analog/digital electronics.
• Hands-on prototyping, testing, and debugging.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions addressing customer needs and technical requirements.
• Interface with customers, product development, marketing, and sales as an extension of Basics BU engineering team.
• Create technical presentations to propose concepts and solutions.
• Lead internal design reviews and customer meetings.
• Maintain engineering documentation (schematics, drawings, specs, test plans, reports).
• Travel as required.
