Job summary

Citi is hiring an Application Developer Intermediate Programmer Analyst in Chennai for a front-office FX, Money Markets, and related risk applications. The role involves end-to-end development responsibilities within a high-availability environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of pure-technical development experience, strong Java/J2EE, Angular, Spring, Oracle DB knowledge, and familiarity with DevOps tools such as GitHub and Jenkins.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in pure technical development roles.
• Proficient in Java, J2EE, Spring and microservices.
• Experience with Oracle DB and SQL scripting.
• Familiar with unit testing frameworks (JUnit/TestNG).
• Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership for delivering the development task assigned.
• Ensure delivery within tight timelines and meeting the team’s expectation.
• Get involved in the entire lifecycle of the development project
• Understand the requirement from Project Lead and ensure quality deliverables.
• Ensure quality and optimized coding with proper documentation
• Do peer code reviews
• Develop unit plan and perform unit testing and provide continuously improved product experience
• Actively assist Support team wherever required
• Assist Project Lead in coordinating with business analysts & user communities to define requirements

Job Overview

Citigroup Markets & Banking’s Markets Operations Technology is a high-intensity product development unit that defines, designs and develops critical front-office applications for the Global FX & Local Markets business.

The Senior Developer will be part of the Development team that is responsible to deliver projects within the space of front-office Foreign Exchange (FX), Money Markets (MM), Derivatives, Fixed Incomes (FI) applications including models and Risk Management tools.

Responsibilities

Knowledge/Experience

5+(Senior Developers) years hands on experience in pure technical roles in development of various software applications.

Technology

• In depth knowledge and application of Java, J2EE, HTML/CSS, Angular, JSP, Servlets, JDBC, Struts framework, Spring and Micro service
• Thorough understanding of usage of the fundamental concepts like Exception Handling, Static block/variables/classes , OOPS concepts, Collections, Multi-Threading, http sessions, session handling, Servlets/JSP life cycle, JDBC, actions, events, implicit objects, custom tags, context
• Exposure to an industry-standard database (Oracle) on a UNIX platform with awareness of database design and SQL scripting knowledge and performance tuning
• Awareness of unit testing frameworks like JUnit or TestNG
• Awareness of application servers /webservers
• Work experience on the transactional applications for low latency, high availability uses is a plus
• Work experience in technologies like JMS / Kafka is a plus
• Exposure to DevOps tools like Github, Jenkins, Lightspeed, Harness, etc..

Education

• Graduation/Post Graduation qualifications in Engineering stream with a very good academic record throughout from premier institutions.
• A high degree of Analytical ability and Quantitative skills is desirable
