Job summary

Musco Lighting seeks an Application Developer II to join our Des Moines, IA office and partner with business areas to deliver information and software tools. You will develop, test, deploy, and maintain modules, mentor teammates, and help drive best practices across the development lifecycle.

The role requires 4+ years in software development, strong C#/Blazor skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent education/experience.
• 4+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with C#, Blazor, REST Endpoints and APIs.
• May work with Progress Openedge ABL code.
• Knowledge of integrations, databases, and security practices.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work independently with accountability.
• Ability to handle sensitive data confidentially.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to mentor less experienced developers.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, maintain and deploy complex system enhancements, new modules and applications.
• Perform root-cause analysis, troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues.
• Collaborate with business users, QA, and infrastructure teams to understand requirements.
• Follow and help refine development best practices.
• Write clean, well-documented code following best practices. Participate in code reviews.
• Document development tasks, develop and execute project schedules.
• Optimize application performance and maintainability.
• Mentor developers on tools, best practices, and techniques.
• Other related duties as assigned.
