Job summary

Southern Company Gas seeks an Application Developer, II to design and develop custom applications supporting its gas applications and COTS systems. You will work with limited supervision on projects using Java, JavaScript, C#, SQL, and web/mobile technologies, with focus on performance and integration.

The role involves collaborating with senior staff, translating specifications into code, and providing on-call support as needed in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CS or related field.
• Experience with SDLC and development principles.
• Experience with Agile delivery; Kanban; Scrum
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to provide on-call support for routine problems and incidents

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying potential solutions that leverage existing (COTS) systems.
• Collaborate with Senior Programmers to plan coding and development.
• Translate specifications to code meeting performance requirements.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain existing software with supervision.
• Participate in deployment activities and production support.
