Job summary

Nightwing is seeking a Full Stack Web Application Developer SME in Sterling, VA to join a team delivering enterprise-wide data-centric mission applications and AI/ML‑enhanced services. You’ll collaborate with Software Developers, ETL Specialists and Data Scientists in an Agile environment to iterate and deploy features.

The role emphasizes designing, developing and testing production code, building rapid prototypes, and delivering demonstrations to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience on Agile software development teams following Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Proven experience using Jira, Confluence, and GitHub for documenting work and collaboration.
• 8–10 years building web applications and UX/UI using Angular, React or JavaScript; Java Spring is a plus.
• 6–8 years Linux operating system experience.
• 4–6 years deploying applications in Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) or AWS, with Azure/Oracle/Google as alternatives.
• 2–3 years working with search & analytics tools (ElasticSearch/OpenSearch).
• 2–3 years ETL with large structured/unstructured data sets.
• 2–4 years designing, developing, testing and implementing new applications.

The candidate will be part of a team of Software Developers, ETL Developers, and Data Scientists to enhance existing production applications and build out new web services on a routinized production cadence to meet the evolving needs of users. This is an exciting opportunity for Software Developers wanting to broaden their credentials in the realm of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML).Development will take place in an iterative fashion using Agile development methodology with input from all levels of stakeholders. Java Spring framework is a plus.* Minimum 6-8 years working in Linux Operating system.* Minimum 4-6 years of demonstrated experience with development and deployment of applications in the Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) environment or an Amazon Web Services cloud environment. Willing to consider to substitute C2S if candidate has a minimum 4-6 years of cloud computing technology to include Azure, Oracle, Google, etc.* Minimum 2-3 years of demonstrated experience with search & analytic tools. Examples to include ElasticSearch, Solr, OpenSearch.* Minimum 2-3 years of demonstrated (Extract, Transform, Load - ETL) with large structured and unstructured raw data sets.* Minimum 2-4 years of demonstrated ability to design, develop, test and implement new applications based on project requirements.* The ability to work individually as well as the ability to work in project teams. Proven ability in decomposing concepts to discrete development tasks and managing your work to a deadline.* Minimum 6-8 years of demonstrated ability in microservices up to and including docker, podman, and or containerization services.* Minimum 4-6 years in Object Oriented programming.
