Job summary

MANTECH is seeking a motivated Application Developer to join its Chantilly, VA team. In this full-time role, you will develop and enhance applications across the software lifecycle, collaborating with teammates, service providers, and users to deliver reliable features.

You will work on design, implementation, testing, code review, deployment, and production support to ensure software is functional and aligned with user requirements. Strong Java, HTML/CSS/JS, and Angular experience are required.

Qualifications

About The Role

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career-oriented Application Developer to join its team in Chantilly, VA. In this full-time role, you will develop and enhance existing applications while contributing to new software development. You will work with teammates, service providers, vendors, and users to understand needs, shape solutions, and deliver reliable features. The role spans the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, code review, deployment, and production support. You will help ensure that software is functional, maintainable, and aligned with user requirements and established development practices.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least seven years of experience in the Information Technology field. Candidates should bring strong, hands-on Java programming and development skills, along with experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one modern front-end framework; Angular is preferred. Familiarity with the Spring Framework, RESTful services, SQL, and object-relational mapping libraries such as Hibernate or JPA is required. Candidates should also have experience using Git branching and merging in a team environment to manage source code.

Preferred qualifications include the ability to manage competing priorities and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders. Experience with or knowledge of Elasticsearch and secure web application development practices is also desirable. Applicants must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. The role requires regular computer use, the ability to remain stationary for approximately half of the work time, and occasional movement within the office to access equipment or materials.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include designing, programming, developing, and modifying existing software systems, applications, and tools, as well as contributing to new solutions as needs evolve. You will analyze user needs and software requirements to assess design feasibility within project timelines and cost constraints. Working collaboratively with teammates, service providers, vendors, and users, you will help define and implement new program features.

You will develop unit and integration tests and participate in functional and regression testing to confirm that programs produce expected results and instructions are accurate. When errors occur, you will make appropriate changes, retest the software, and verify that issues are resolved. You will periodically review help desk messages and coordinate with other teams to troubleshoot and address production issues. The role also involves participating in code reviews, applying feedback, and providing constructive input consistent with team standards and recommended programming practices. You will deploy code to development, test, and production environments using the existing DevOps infrastructure and tools.
