Datasoft Technologies, Inc. is seeking an AS400 Developer/Admin for the Oklahoma Insurance Department project in Oklahoma City.

The role is part-time (20 hrs/week) with hybrid on-site days, focusing on maintaining legacy RPG/CL code, DB2 for i tuning, and environment coordination with Ensono. Requires 5+ years of hands-on AS400 development and administration, security management, and experience with RPG/ILE RPG, DB2 for i, and FTP/SFTP.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on AS400 (IBM i / iSeries) development & administration.
• Core Skills: RPG IV/ILE RPG, CL, SQL on DB2 for i, and FTP/SFTP.
• Admin & Hosting: IBM i work management/security and external hosting vendors (e.g., Ensono).
• Location: Must be local to OKC or relocate for hybrid on-site days.
• Security: Must pass a State of Oklahoma background check.

Responsibilities

• Application Support: Maintain and optimize legacy code in RPG, RPG III, RPG IV (ILE RPG), RPGLE, and CL.
• System Administration & Liaison: Act as technical POC for host provider (Ensono); manage user profiles, object security, audit logs, job queues, and subsystems.
• Database & Integration: Query and tune DB2 for i databases using SQL; automate secure file transfers via FTP/SFTP.
• Modernization: Document legacy flows and schemas to assist state DBAs with data extraction and cloud migration.

Job description

• Client: Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) / OMES
• Location: Oklahoma City, OK (Hybrid Remote — requires designated on-site days)
• Schedule: Part-Time (20 hrs/week), M–F
• Duration: 12 Months (2026-09-30 to 2027-09-29, high probability of extension)
• Interview Process: 1-Round Teams Video Call (30 mins); 2nd round only if needed

Position Overview

OMES is seeking a high-caliber AS400 Developer/Admin to maintain custom legacy applications, manage application-level security, tune DB2 databases, and coordinate environment operations with an external host (Ensono). This role also supports ongoing cloud migration and legacy data archiving initiatives.
