Qualifications

• Knowledge of IBM i application administration, security, and work management
• Experience with FTP/SFTP, data integrations, and automated file transfers
• Experience working within a hosted or managed AS400 environment

Responsibilities

• Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot applications developed in RPG, RPG III, RPG IV (ILE RPG), RPGLE, and CL
• Investigate production issues, batch processing failures, and application defects
• Modify legacy applications to support changing business and regulatory requirements
• Query, manage, and optimize DB2 for i databases, SQL queries, and indexes
• Support IBM i application administration, including user profiles, security, job queues, subsystems, and job scheduling
• Coordinate system-level requirements with the external AS400 hosting provider
• Support FTP/SFTP integrations and automated data transfers with external systems
• Assist with legacy database extraction, data cleanup, archiving, and cloud migration initiatives
• Document application logic, database schemas, system flows, interfaces, and dependencies
• Work closely with state DBAs, cloud architects, technical teams, and business stakeholders

We are seeking an experienced

We are seeking an experienced AS400 Developer/Admin to support the Oklahoma Insurance Department’s core IBM AS/400 (IBM i/iSeries) environment.

This position will focus primarily on legacy application development and maintenance, DB2 database management, application administration, system integrations, and modernization support. The selected consultant will also work with state IT teams and the managed hosting provider to support environmental changes and ongoing legacy-to-cloud initiatives.
