Job summary

Ignite Digital seeks a highly skilled Application Developer to support a U.S. Navy program in the Norfolk, VA area. The role focuses on secure, scalable apps that integrate data across systems on-premises and in the cloud.

You will design, develop, deploy, and sustain custom applications aligned to mission objectives, leveraging Azure AI, Power Platform, SPFx, and modern dev practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS, Information Science, Statistics, Design, or related field.
• Azure, Power Platform, AI/ML, SQL certifications highly preferred.
• Active DoD SECRET clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and maintain custom applications aligned to mission objectives.
• Build robust web apps with intuitive front-ends and secure back-end services.
• Integrate data from internal/external sources for end-to-end functionality.
• Implement AI capabilities using Microsoft Azure AI Services and ML tools.
• Develop automation with Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI.
• Support ALM: source control, pipelines, environments, deployments.
• Create components using SPFx and Power Apps Framework.
• Deploy across Azure Cloud and on-prem Windows Server environments.
• Utilize virtualization (VMWare/HyperV) for hosting and dev/test.
• Manage databases with Microsoft SQL Server; perform TSQL development and tuning.
• Leverage Azure DevOps for work items, repos, builds, releases, and workflows.
• Create automation scripts with PowerShell for CI/CD and admin tasks.
• Collaborate in Agile/DevSecOps environments.

Ignite Digital is seeking a highly skilled Application Developer to support a U.S. Navy program in the Norfolk, VA area. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience developing secure, scalable, and modern applications that integrate data across multiple systems both on-premises and in cloud environments. This role requires working closely with Navy stakeholders to design, develop, deploy, and sustain custom applications aligned to mission objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain custom applications and mission-focused digital solutions.
• Build robust web applications, including intuitive front-end interfaces and secure, efficient back-end services.
• Integrate data from internal and external sources to ensure end-to-end functionality and high-performance operations.
• Implement artificial intelligence capabilities leveraging Microsoft's AI ecosystem, including Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI Service, and Azure Machine Learning.
• Develop automation and low-code/no-code solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
• Support full Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), including source control, pipelines, environments, and solution-based deployments.
• Build and maintain custom components using SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Power Apps Component Framework, and advanced Power BI modeling.
• Deploy and manage solutions across both Azure Cloud and on-premises Windows Server environments.
• Utilize virtualization technologies (VMWare or HyperV) for system hosting and development environments.
• Manage enterprise databases using Microsoft SQL Server, including TSQL development, performance tuning, and data modeling.
• Leverage Azure DevOps and Visual Studio to manage work items, repositories, builds, releases, and development workflows.
• Create automation scripts and tools using PowerShell to support CI/CD, system configuration, migration, and administrative tasks.

Additional Required Experience:

• Secure coding practices, especially in support of DoD environments
• Ability to work within Agile or DevSecOps workflows

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Statistics, Design, or a related field.
• Relevant technical certifications (Azure, Power Platform, AI/ML, SQL) highly preferred.

Security Clearance:

• Active DoW SECRET clearance required.

Salary: $120k+ to align with education and experience.
