Job summary

Samaritan's Purse is seeking an Application Developer to join the Information Technology team in Boone, NC. You will design, develop, test, and support front-end applications and back-end microservices, working with Angular SPAs, PWAs, and mobile apps.

The role emphasizes implementing architecture standards, documenting solutions, and evaluating new technologies while protecting donor information. English fluency required, on-site in Boone, with a faith-based mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 2–4 years of related application development experience
• Proficiency with .NET Core, Web API, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, PWAs, and mobile app development

We are seeking an Application Developer to join our Information Technology team in Boone, NC. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the role of Application Developer,you will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
• Designs, develops, tests, and supports front-end applications and back-end microservices, including Angular SPAs, PWAs, services, and mobile applications.
• Develops new features and resolves application defects in collaboration with senior developers, designers, and development leadership.
• Applies established application architecture, development standards, design patterns, and best practices across solutions.
• Creates and maintains technical documentation for new and existing applications and microservices.
• Evaluates emerging technologies and responsibly uses ministry-approved AI platforms to improve efficiency, quality, and decision-making while safeguarding confidential, personal, and donor information.
• Other duties as assigned.

What are the qualifications?

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and two (2) to four (4) years of related application development experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• General knowledge of application development technologies, including .NET Core, Web API, Entity Framework, TypeScript, Angular 20+, Node.js, Python, PHP, and iOS/Android development.
• General knowledge of web and API technologies, including RESTful services, SOAP, HTML, CSS, Sass, progressive web applications (PWAs), WordPress, and jQuery.
• General knowledge of relational databases and development workflow technologies, including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Git, Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.
• 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
